TITLE : SHOULD STUDENTS DO PART-TIME JOB.
Nowadays, it is
common for students to find a part-time job. Part-time job is a form of
employment that carries fewer hours per week than a full-time job. There are
four reasons why students should do a part-time job.
Nowadays,
students search for part-time jobs to gain experience. There are lots of
advantages if students have experience. Firstly, experienced workers are better
problem solver compared to inexperienced worker. For example, if a company has
problems with their customers, experienced worker know how to handle the
situation because the wisdom of the workforce can help in assessing the possible
solutions. Secondly, experienced workers will have a tendency to make a fewer
mistakes. If students had experienced in doing their jobs, fewer mistakes can
be done. The particular company will hire the experienced students because they
will give advantages to the company, who are efficient and do not make a lot of
mistakes. For instance, experienced
workers have already learned their mistakes from someone else. So, when you put
them on your payroll, you will get someone who can hit the ground running.
Thirdly, experienced workers have better working habits compared to the non
experienced workers. Students that have experienced know their jobs and can
organize themselves besides more reliable and punctual. For example,
experienced workers usually know what is wrong and cannot be done whether
during meeting or presentation compared to the inexperienced workers.
Therefore, it is a right decision if students want to search for a part time
job because of the experiences they will get is very valuable.
Students
can earn their own money by doing part-time job. By earning their own money,
students can know how to appreciate money and not use it on something that is
not necessary. Such as buy new shoes, while they have lot of shoes at home. The
loan money is usually not enough. For each semester, the money will be used to
pay the fees, books and etc. So, at the end of semester students will have to
look for other initiative to survive. For example, eating instant noodles, and
fasting. Furthermore, students can help reducing their parent burden. Students
can be independent and don’t depend on their parent money, especially for
students that came from a poor family. When doing part-time jobs, the burden
can be lesser by finding their own money besides they can also help their
parents in the financial terms.
Students
can practice the lesson that they have got from the class. If the student just
know the theory but doesn’t know where and how to use it, it will be no use for
the students. Besides, students will understand more and see clearly what the
purpose they learned. Without any practical, students will usually take for
granted and doesn’t have initiative to learn if they do not understand. By this
practical, students can see it more clearly and know how to apply the theory that
they had learned. For example, when the students doesn’t really know how to set
up a plot, by this practical the students can learn and see it more clearly
compared to the lecture in class. Likewise, the more practice the students get,
the better they are. This way, the students will get more experience and can
increase their personal skills. This is one of the requirements that the
employers are looking for when a student went for an interview.
The
students can recognize their own strength by doing a part-time job. When the
students know what their strength is, they can use it and make it as an
advantage when they went for an interview. Individual that knows their own
strength is actually a confidence person and know what the best for him. Such as the student went for an interview, he
knows his strength and can use it to handle the interviewer. Secondly, modify his role so that he will use the
strengths instead of the weaknesses. If
the student knows his own strength, he will show his strength and hide his
weakness. For example, a student has a high confident level and can speak in
front of many people but, he is weak at giving good ideas. He can obscure the
interviewer or the employer by just saying anything with confident. Next, is
invests in the strengths. Find ways to further develop the skills and knowledge
the students have. For instance, participate in training, and conferences.
This way will attract the interviewer to hire the students compared to the
students with high academic qualifications but doesn’t have any confident land
courage to speak in front of many people. Students with high confident
level and able to speak in front of many people will be able to convince the
customers to invest in the project.
To sum up, doing
part-time job has lots of benefits. For example, the students can gain
experience and earn their own money. Furthermore, they can practice what they’ve
got from the classes and can recognize their own strength. Therefore, doing
part-time job for students have really great benefits which can help and
prepare them for their better future.
